Job Description

The Ida Pfeiffer Professorships at the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy support the Faculty's mission to research on the sustainability of planet Earth. 

We are currently looking for two visiting professorships in the fields of "Cosmos" or "Earth" and are looking for top scientists who can provide exciting insights and act as a catalyst for the Faculty's diverse research topics. The Ida Pfeiffer professors will have access to the Faculty's state-of-the-art facilities and will be associated with our third mission activities.

We are the "Faculty for Exploration" with 36 (tenure-track) professorships in seven departments and regard exploration as a scientific adventure. Our 400 academic staff members do research and teach in the fields of "Cosmos", "Earth", "Environment" and "Anthroposphere". Our StudiesServiceCenter supports 4,500 students, who can choose from 5 Bachelor's programs, 10 Master's programs and doctoral studies in 7 fields.

Duration of employment: 6 months (40 hours/week) from 1 September 2024 through 28 February 2025.
