Job Description

A PhD position is available in the astroparticle physics group at KTH in Stockholm. The astrophysics research at KTH covers a broad range of topics related to astronomical transients and compact objects, as well as the development of instrumentation for X-ray astronomy. The main focus for the PhD position is studies of supernova remnants. The work will primarily involve analysis and modelling of observational data. 

A suitable background for this position is a Master of Science in astronomy or physics. A relevant degree project and experience of data analysis would be advantageous. The applicant should enjoy working as a part of a team and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

The employment is four years with the possibility of extension up to five years. Up to 20 percent department duties, such as teaching, are included in the employment. The start date is flexible within the period Nov 2019 - Feb 2020. More details about the position can be found in the link below.

The employment includes full social benefits. The annual salary increases from about EUR34,000 in the first year to about EUR40,000 in the final year.
