Job Description

The Astrophysics Department at CEA Saclay invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Position in numerical astrophysics. The successful candidate is expected to design, carry out, and analyse high-resolution multi-physics simulations of the coupled evolution of interstellar clouds and cosmic rays to be compared with observations. Previous experience in high-performance computing, in conducting MHD simulations and/or in writing/modifying multi-purpose codes such as Ramses or Arepo is desired.

The position will start by mid 2020 and includes travel and computing support. The applicant should have a recent PhD in physics or astrophysics. The initial appointment of one year can extend till the end of 2022, depending on performance. The salary is based on the French university service scale and includes employer contributions to medical insurance, maternity leave, and retirement. The laboratory near Paris gathers 200 scientists working on a large variety of astrophysical topics (http://irfu.cea.fr/dap/en/index.php). We provide access to the supercomputing centres of GENCI and PRACE and to high-end local facilities.

Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae, publication list, and a brief statement of research interests by March 27 2020 to Pr.
