The Astrophysics Department at CEA is a major space institute, part of the Paris-Saclay University, a world-leading multidisciplinary campus.
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher to carry out research focussed on X-ray cluster science. The work will take place in the context of the third and final stage of the XMM-XXL survey, which is the largest XMM programme to date; it is associated to numerous surveys from UV to radio. The XXL collaboration involves a large international consortium (Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, US, Taiwan).
The full-depth XXL survey revealed some 500 clusters of galaxies out to z~2 over 50 deg2 . The successful candidate will finalise the characterisation of the cluster detection and selection procedures and the production of the XXL cluster catalogue. He/she will be expected to actively participate in the scientific analysis on topics related to cluster physics evolution and cosmology as well as taking an active part in the multi-lambda associated programmes.
Experience in X-ray data analysis is required.
The position is 1 year, renewable for another 1 or 2 years, full time.
Interested candidates can contact Marguerite Pierre ([email protected]) for further information.
