The Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem will offer several postdoctoral fellowships to start in the fall of 2022. Preference will be given to the following areas of research:
Cosmology: formation and dynamics of galaxies and large-scale structure (Dekel, Mandelker, Birnboim, Gnat, Hoffman, Shaviv)
High-energy astrophysics: gravitational waves, gamma-ray bursts, tidal disruption events, compact object mergers, cosmic rays (Piran, Sari, Shaviv, Stone, Horesh)
Observational time domain astronomy: supernovae, tidal disruption events, gamma-ray burst, radio transients (Horesh)
Planetary systems (Sari, Stone) and terrestrial physics (Shaviv)
Plasma in astrophysics: ISM, IGM, circum-galactic processes, UV and X-ray observations (Mandelker, Gnat, Birnboim, Dekel)
Stellar physics, radiation transfer (Shaviv)
Stellar dynamics (Stone, Sari, Dekel), compact-object mergers (Stone, Piran, Sari)
Applications should be submitted by e-mail to Mrs. Yulia Epshtein at [email protected], including a curriculum vitae with a list of publications and a brief summary of research, and applicants should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to [email protected] .
The general deadline is December 20, 2021. Early applications by September 20, 2021 and by October 20, 2021, are highly encouraged because they can be considered for a larger pool of funding.
