The University of Sydney invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Prof. Tim Bedding and Dr. Daniel Huber on a research project to combine data from NASA’s Kepler Mission and ESA’s Gaia satellite for solar-type and intermediate-mass stars.
The position is funded full-time for 2 years with a possible extension contingent on future funding. Part-time employment is possible. The start date is negotiable and the candidate will be based at the University of Sydney.
A PhD in astrophysics or related fields is required. Experience in observational asteroseismology (the study of stellar oscillations), demonstrated ability to conduct excellent research, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience with Kepler data and exoplanet science is also desirable.
The School of Physics supports a flexible working environment. Subject to visa restrictions, applications will be considered for either a full-time or part-time appointment to this position.
