Postdoctoral Position in Computational, Theoretical, or Data-Driven Cosmology

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Vienna seeks a

                 University Assistant (Postdoctoral)

We seek an outstanding candidate to join the research team of Oliver Hahn to develop numerical, data-driven, or theoretical techniques in the context of cosmology or extragalactic astrophysics. Our ideal candidate has a background in applied mathematics/theoretical physics, and a pronounced interest and strong track record in the modelling of the large-scale structure of our Universe. The successful candidate will support and complement existing research efforts of our team, while further developing and shaping their own research profile in collaboration with the group.  

The start of the contract is negotiable. The employment period is 4 years from the beginning of the contract.

You should have a PhD degree in applied mathematics (or related fields, e.g. physics) and a strong background in programming and cosmology/astrophysics. Some participation in teaching, (co-)supervision of students, and administrative duties is part of the job profile.
