The Tsinghua Center for Astrophysics (THCA) in the Department of Physics at Tsinghua University invites applications for postdoctoral positions in areas broadly related to cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution, high energy astrophysics, exoplanets and time domain astrophysics. Candidates with background in instrumentation, observation or theory are all encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to work closely with faculty members in similar areas, and will have access to a variety of domestic and international observing facilities and computational resources. Description of individual research programs can be found at the THCA web site (http://astro.tsinghua.edu.cn).
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field by the date of appointment. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply, regardless of gender, national or cultural origins. English is a working language at THCA. The main selection criteria are research accomplishments and potential for future success. A complete application should include a curriculum vita, a list of publications, and a statement of previous research and future plan, all in one PDF file, and be sent via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org, by December 15, 2017 to receive full consideration. The applicant should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the same email address prior to the deadline. Initial appointment is for two years, renewable for a third year depending on performance and funding. Successful candidates will be offered competitive salary compensation and housing accommodation. They are normally expected to start at Tsinghua no later than September 1, 2018 (although the exact starting date can be negotiated).
