Postdoctoral Researcher
USRA is accepting applications for a Postdoc in the field of massive star formation. The position is available for a period of 2 years. The successful applicant will work with Dr. James De Buizer on a SOFIA-funded project investigating the mid-infrared data collected from SOFIA of several of the most active massive star-forming regions of the Galaxy. The successful applicant will use this data in conjunction with archived Spitzer, Herschel, and VLA data to study the stellar cluster populations and their environments in these “mini-starburst” regions.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- PhD in Astronomy, Physics or related field
- Experience with multi-wavelength data and the study of massive and/or clustered star formation processes
- Experience with reduction and analysis of infrared data; experience with ground-based mid-infrared, Spitzer, Herschel, and radio interferometric data is a particular advantage
Applicants should apply to the posting at USRA Careers and submit a cover letter, a copy of their CV (with list of publications, a description of their research interests, including relevance to the project above), and three letters of recommendation (one from your thesis advisor). Additional information on USRA can be found at www.usra.edu.
