ERC-funded Post-doctoral Research Fellowships in Near-Field cosmology

We invite applications for two Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships in Near-Field cosmology from enthusiastic researchers with strong background in Physics. The Fellowship is funded by the ERC Starting grant NEFERTITI led by Stefania Salvadori. 

The research areas include first stars, dwarf galaxies, and ancient metal-poor stars. Candidates with experience in the development/use of semi-analytical models for the Local Group formation or hydrodynamical simulations of the first galaxies are strongly encouraged to apply. An excellent academic record, good command of English and strong communication/writing skills will be important criteria for the selection.

Successful candidates will join the active NEFERTITI team and will work in the research environment of the University of Florence, in synergy with the Arcetri Observatory and the closeby Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. 

The candidates must hold a PhD in Physics or Astrophysics at the begining of the fellowship. The appointment is offered for three years starting from May the 1st 2021, with possibility of a delay upon agreement. The gross salary will be of 27,000 €/year. Non italian applicants will also receive an integration of 1,500€/year for the Mobility Allowance. Generous research and travel funds will be available.
