Job Description

We are offering a 3-year PhD position at the Observatory of the University of Hamburg to work on feedback by active galactic nuclei with data from the recently launched X-ray observatory eROSITA and a number of radio surveys such as LOFAR and EMU. The position is baed in Hamburg but is part of a joint project with the group of Prof. Thomas Reiprich at the University of Bonn. 

The Observatory offers a diverse and rich research environment. Our teams have strong expertise in radio astronomy, X-ray astronomy and numerical modeling. The candidate will have early access to large survey data from LOFAR, eROSITA, EMU and 4MOST. Funding for travel to attend and present at domestic and international meetings will be available. A master in astronomy, physics or equivalent is a requirement. Good programming skills and knowledge in radio interferometry are further requirements.  Candidates from under-represented groups are especially encouraged to reply. Please send a motivation letter and a CV via email to Marcus Bruggen by Dec 1st, 2020.
