Postdoctoral Fellowships in Astrophysics, University of Science and Technology of China

Department of Astronomy at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) invites applications for postdoctoral positions to start in the fall of 2017. Successful applicants will join an exciting group to explore topics including cosmology, large-scale structure, galaxies, active galactic nuclei, high-energy astrophysics, extra-solar planets, and astronomical instrumentation. We have strong ties to other institutions in astrophysics in China. 

USTC is among the top-ranked universities in China and is committed to provide strong support to postdoctoral researchers. The annual salary for research associates and CFA fellows starts from 140000RMB. It provides generous benefits in medical insurance and additional 1000RMB per-month housing allowance. Successful applicants are encouraged to apply for the Youth-Innovation Research Fund supported by USTC (starting from 100000RMB). 

Applicants of all nationalities are welcome and are expected to have received Ph.D. before commencing. Successful applicants are expected to work with one or some of faculty members listed in here. Applicants are encouraged to contact with faculties to learn detailed information. The appointment is awarded for two years and is extendable (titled with non-tenure research associate professor) contingent on performance and funding. Promotions to tenure positions are expected for extremelty outstanding candidates.
