Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the Centre for Astrophysics and Relativity in Dublin City University. The successful applicant will be expected to work closely with Dr. Regan on the development and use of the next generation AMR code Enzo-e. Enzo-e is the Exascale successor of the orginal Enzo code and is designed to run on tens of thousands of cores.
The successful applicant will be expected to be able to develop new physics capabilities in the area of seed black hole formation which can be integrated into the Enzo-e code base.
Preference will therefore be given to candidates with strong computational skills and those with experience of running large hydrodynamical simulations. Previous experience with Enzo, while beneficial, is not required.
The successful applicant must be available to start on or before March 1st 2020 - extensions to this date are not possible due to funding restrictions.
The initial appointment will be for 18 months and subject to satisfactory performance an extension by a further 18 months will be available. The salary scale is set at New PostDoctoral Researcher Level 2A (Point 1) of the Science Foundation Ireland Salary Scales (2019) - https://www.sfi.ie/funding/sfi-policies-and-guidance/budget-finance-rela...
