Job Description

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a dynamic new university established 30 years ago, but already highly ranked (56th in 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 27th in 2021 QS World University Rankings). The University has established the Center for Fundamental Physics with faculty members so far affiliated with HKUST (Department of Physics) and/or the IAS including Andrew Cohen, Tao Liu, Kirill Prokofiev, George Smoot, Henry Tye and Yi Wang.

We invite applications for postdoctoral position(s) effective from July 2021 in the areas of observational astrophysics and cosmology (duration: 2 years, renewable upon mutual agreement): one joint with The University of Hong Kong (Jeremy Lim, Tom Broadhurst) and one joint with Donostia International Physics Center in Spain (Tom Broadhurst). The appointees are expected to participate in JWST data analyzing, lensing modeling and/or observation simulating (see http://cfp.ust.hk/crf for details). Starting salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be also provided.
