Job Description

Applications are invited for a research associate (postdoctoral) position working with Professors Mark Voit and Brian O’Shea at Michigan State University on theoretical and computational modeling of the circumgalactic medium. The successful candidate will help to design, execute, and analyze numerical simulations of the links between black-hole feedback and condensation of the ambient gas around massive galaxies. Candidates with expertise in large-scale simulation and/or computational fluid dynamics, are particularly encouraged to apply. Inquiries about the position are actively encouraged ([email protected]). Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in astronomy, physics, or a related subject by the appointment’s start date. The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable up to three years upon mutual agreement. The expected starting date is August 2018 but is negotiable.
