Job Description

Applications are invited for positions at Paris Observatory devoted to the software development (conception, optimisation) of spectroscopic data analysis modules and validation for the data reduction of the astronomical satellite Gaia, and the analysis of the results.

Job function: scientific and technical studies, specification, conception and development

Professional Qualifications : software engineering, development in Java, databases, data analysis techniques, technical english, relational aptitudes. A good background in astronomy and preferably in spectroscopy would be important.

Formation required : The candidate must have either a PhD degree or a second year of a Master diploma, or an engineer degree in astrophysics or computer science.
