Applications are invited for an immediate postdoc opening in astrophysical disks and planets. We seek candidates with background in accretion disk physics, gas and dust dynamics and instabilities, planet and disk interaction, planet formation and dynamics, radiative processes, and jets/outflows from disks. Experiences in theoretical and computational modeling are highly desirable. The successful candidates are encouraged to collaborate on the current projects carried out at LANL, and they will also be able to develop his/her own research programs. The initial appointment is for two years, with a possible third year extension.

The position is offered by the Nuclear and Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology group within the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Outstanding candidates may be nominated for the Distinguished Fellowships such as J. Robert Oppenheimer, Richard P. Feynman, Darleane Hoffman fellows with an application deadline of Nov. 1. Other postdoc fellowships include Director's Fellowship and Keller Fellowship with a deadline of Dec. 15, and the Metropolis Fellowship in Computational Physics (US citizens only) with a deadline of Dec. 15.
Education: PhD in related fields completed within the past five years or soon to be completed.
