Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the area of active galactic nuclei.
The succesful candidate will work with prof. Bozena Czerny on the research project „Constraints on the dark energy properties from observations of active galaxies” Nr DEC-2017/26/A/ST9/00756 (PI Bożena Czerny). Candidates with previous experience in astrophysics, and in particular in optical observations and in programming, are particularly welcome. Among the tasks of the employed scientists will be the development of tools for calculating the time delay of the emission lines with respect to the continuum in spectroscopic data, development of the appropriate tools for photometric data in the context of LSST, and determination of the constraints on the dark energy parameters from the existing spectroscopic data. Prior experience in AGN spectroscopy is desirable. More details about the project can be found at the web site of CFT.
The appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of extension for an additional year. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy by the date of appointment.
Interested applicants should submit a CV, personal data form for an employment applicant (to be downloaded from the institute webpage), publication record, a brief description of research interests and relevant experience, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be emailed both to firstname.lastname@example.org and directly to prof. Czerny (email@example.com) by June 10, 2018.Applications may be accepted after this deadline until the position is filled.
