Job Description

New Mexico State University is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support day time observations at the Sunspot Solar Observatory in Sunspot, NM. 

Responsibilities include systems administration, computer and database management and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure required for operation of the the Dunn Solar Telescope and instruments, documentation of this infrastructure, and planning/implementation of upgrades to improve functionality and maintainability. The successful candidate will assist with observing, computing, and other items as needed. Self-driven motivation, ability to excel in, and lead, small teams, and the ability to work at a remote location at altitude are essential attributes.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Five (5) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services
