Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in theoretical astrophysics and cosmology at the University of California, Riverside. The successful candidate will work with Professor Anson D'Aloisio on a research program that will include numerical modeling of the high-redshift intergalactic medium. The ideal candidate will have a background in cosmological simulations and quasar absorption spectra. However, all candidates in theoretical astrophysics/cosmology are encouraged to apply. In addition to working with D'Aloisio, the successful candidate will have the opportunity (and will be encouraged) to pursue an independent research program.
Initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of renewal for a third year based on performance and available funding. The candidate must receive a Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy by the start date. Start dates in the fall of 2018 are preferred.
Please submit applications to firstname.lastname@example.org as a single PDF document containing: (1) curriculum vitae, including a list of publications; (2) a brief statement of research interests and experience. Applicants should also arrange to have three letters of reference sent to the same address by the deadline. For full consideration, all application materials must be received by Friday, January 19th, 2018. Please direct all questions to email@example.com.
