Job Announcement Text:

We invite applications for a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Toronto scintillometry group, a group pioneering innovative applications of ISM and plasma lensing of pulsars and FRB's using VLBI and other tools, aiming to achieve km scale resolution of pulsar magnetospheres, map tiny scale structures in the ISM, and measure precise masses and distances to pulsars. The scintillometry group spans faculty at the University of Toronto (CITA, DAA and Dunlap) and a vibrant group of postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students. Local resources include the CHIME telescope, the Algonquin 46m, 10m, and DRAO 26m telescopes, as well as computing on a 65536 core BGQ and the 60,000 core Niagara supercomputers in Toronto.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field and have demonstrated understanding of baseband voltage signals, first principles VLBI calibration and the HPC skills required to manipulate multi-petabyte VLBI baseband data sets using standard (e.g. DiFX, SFXC, dspsr) and custom software (e.g.
