We are looking for a researcher experienced in statistical analysis of galaxy surveys with the aim of testing cosmological models. Areas of particular interest include redshift-space clustering; galaxy groups; assembly bias; cross-correlation tomography. The position will lead to nominated membership of the DESI consortium. The successful candidate will work with Professor John Peacock at the Institute for Astronomy in the Royal Observatory Edinburgh. With over 100 researchers, the IfA is one of the world’s major centres of astronomy research, with an especially strong track record in cosmology. There will be extensive opportunities for independent research and collaboration, including the option to supervise postgraduate students. The position is available immediately and the initial appointment will be for three years. The salary will be in the range £35,333 – £42,155 depending on experience.
