PhD position in asteroid studies (AMU, Poland)

Astronomical Observatory Institute at the Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań is seeking a PhD student to be funded by the Polish National Science Centre. The stipend is available for a period of 4 years, together with funding for conference travels. The starting date is 1. October 2021. After the end of the project there will be up to one year extra time to write up and defend a mandatory PhD dissertation. The stipend is 5 000 PLN per month in the first two years of the project and 6 000 PLNper month in another two years, and is tax free. The candidate will be working under the supervision of dr. hab. Anna Marciniak on various topics on physical studies of asteroids, using photometry in the visible, thermal data and stellar occultations.

Requirements:

• Master degree in astronomy, computational physics, or a related field at the time of the beginning of the studies.
• Good programming skills

• a copy of the Master degree certicate (original language is acceptable), or the statement on the expected Master thesis submission and defence;
• transcript of university grades with the description of the grading system
