The role

The School of Physical Sciences at the Open University is seeking a Lecturer to join the Astronomy Discipline and enhance its teaching and research portfolio.

You will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of our innovative distance learning programme, conduct world-leading research, publish in major peer-reviewed journals, and make applications for research funding.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in astronomy or a related field, display excellent communication and team working skills, and a strong commitment to teaching astronomy. You will have a track record of publications in high quality journals, suitable for REF submissions, and evidence of past research funding applications.
