The Theoretical Star and Planet Formation group at the University Observatory of the Department of Physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians University led by Prof. Barbara Ercolano announces the opportunity for a 3-5 Year Temporary Professor/Postdoctoral position in the area of theoretical and computational astrophysics with focus on protoplanetary disc evolution and/or planet formation. Scientists with a PhD degree in Physics, Astrophysics or related fields are invited to apply. The successful candidate will be embedded in the lively atmosphere of the DFG-funded Research Unit on Transition Discs (www.transitiondiscs.com), and the recently awarded Excellence Cluster Origin and the International Research Group on protoplanetary disc supported by the Centre of Advanced Studies of the Ludwig-Maximilians University. We aim to fill the position by September 2019. The position will be awarded for a period of 1+2+2 years. The first year of the position will be on the level of Temporary Professor and the post-holder will be expected to hold a lecture for Master students while enjoying being a full member of the Faculty at the LMU. The following 2+2 years will be at a senior postdoctoral level and will be awarded based on performance.
