We seek applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Galactic X-ray astronomy (salary scale TV-L E13, at least 2600 EUR after taxes and social security deductions), for an anticipated duration of initially three years.
Duties include leading participation in the scientific quick look analysis for eROSITA, including multiwavelength follow up observations, and research in the area of X-ray binaries, with a focus on eROSITA.
We seek a researcher with a PhD in astronomy or a related field, preferentially with a background in observational X-ray astronomy (ideally of compact objects) and programming experience in a compiled programming language.
Remeis-Observatory is the astronomical institute of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and located in the Unesco world heritage city of Bamberg.
