Center for Cosmology and Computational Astrophysics (C3A) in the Institute for Advanced Study in Physics of Zhejiang University welcomes applications for a number of postdoc positions. Applicants with expertise in the areas of galaxy formation simulations, supernova feedback, supermassive black feedback processes, large-scale structure, intergalactic medium, circum-galactic medium, interstellar medium, star formation, epoch of reionization, and other related computational and theoretical astrophysics fields will be considered. Current research activities at C3A include hydrodynamic and N-body simulations of galaxy formation, galaxy formation feedback processes, globular cluster formation, accretion disk physics, dark matter and others. C3A is projected to expand significantly at all levels in the next five years. Large computational resources are available. Successful applicants are encouraged to be significantly independent in conducting their research. Applicants should have recently completed their PhD in astronomy and astrophysics or some related scientific computation fields. The appointment is for three years. Long-term fellowships may be granted for exceptional candidates. Internationally competitive compensation is provided along with generous support for research activities and subsidized housing. The positions are available immediately but no later than September 1, 2024.
Application material (CV, research achievements and a future research plan) should be combined into a single PDF file, to be sent via email with the subject “Postdoc Application +(applicant name)” to Professor Renyue Cen at [email protected].
Three letters of recommendation with subject “Recommendation Letter for (applicant name)” should be sent to the same email address.
