Astronomical Observatory Institute at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is seeking a PhD student to be funded by the Polish National Science Centre. The stipend is available for a period of 4 years. The starting date is expected to be in the summer or fall 2021 and is negotiable. The stipend is 4 500 PLN per month and is tax free. The candidate will be working in the group of dr. hab. Michał Michałowski on various topics on cosmic gas, gamma-ray bursts, and/or supernovae. The group will consist of one postdoctoral researcher, two PhD students and several undergraduate students.
Requirements:
- Master degree in astronomy or a related field at the time of the beginning of the studies.

- brief (up to one page) statement of research/programming experiences and skills;
- a copy of the Master degree certificate (original language is acceptable), or the statement on the expected Master thesis submission and defence;
- transcript of university grades with the description of the grading system.
