Postdoctoral position for observations of galaxy clusters with LOFAR and eROSITA

The galaxy cluster group at the University of Hamburg/Hamburg Observatory announces the opportunity for a 3-year postdoctoral position in the field of galaxy groups and clusters. The successful applicant is expected to conduct research on the interplay between thermal and non-thermal emission in galaxy clusters and groups, and will have access to data from LOFAR surveys and eROSITA. We are looking for a person with experience in either interferometric radio astronomy and/or X-ray astronomy. Familiarity with non-thermal phenomena in galaxy clusters would be beneficial. 

This position is part of the ERC-funded project DRANOEL (Deciphering RAdio NOn-Thermal Emission on the Largest-scale) hosted by the Universities of Bologna and Hamburg. The Postdoc will work in close contact with Marcus Brüggen in Hamburg and other group members in, both, Hamburg and Bologna. They will have privileged use of state-of-the-art computing facilities and early access to large survey data from LOFAR and eROSITA.
