The National Solar Observatory (NSO) is seeking qualified applicants for two postdoctoral positions located at its Maui, HI location or at the NSO Headquarters in Boulder. The successful candidates are expected to collaborate with NSO staff and/or community-based scientists on research related to the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST).
These positions are focused on projects that advance the analysis and interpretation of chromospheric and coronal spectropolarimetric data from the first-light instruments of the DKIST. In addition to research, the position will include a component of operational support for the DKIST facility. Students nearing completion of their degree program are encouraged to apply but should expect to graduate by Fall 2020.
The positions are for duration of 2 years, with the possibility of extension for an additional year contingent on availability of funding.
Applicants should submit a cover letter (including a brief research statement of 2-3 pages maximum) and CV by August 1, 2020 for consideration. Please apply online.
