Announcement
Job Announcement Text:

The Department of Physics at Florida State University invites applicants for two postdoctoral research positions in Cosmic Microwave Background cosmology and millimeter-wave astrophysics.  Appointments will begin in Fall 2023 or sooner.  Professor Kevin Huffenberger will supervise the positions.

The research will address (1) millimeter-wavelength polarization foregrounds in the Milky Way and their implications for B-mode measurements of gravitational waves from inflation and (2) transients and other point sources in the datasets from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope and the Simons Observatory.  The work will support projects externally funded by NASA and NSF.

Other strengths of the FSU astrophysics group include studies of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence via simulations and the physics of stars and supernovae.

A PhD in astronomy, physics, or a closely related discipline is required.  Applications should include a CV, bibliography, and a statement of research interests and experience.  Applicants need to apply at this web portal, job ID 53890, and send a copy of all materials directly to [email protected].  Please arrange for three letters of recommendation, which are submitted through the application web portal.

Review of applications will begin on February 16, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.

FSU is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community that is welcoming to all faculty, staff and students. As such, we strongly encourage applications from candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to fostering and promoting the values of diversity and inclusion.  Florida State University is an Equal Opportunity/Access/Affirmative Action/Pro Disabled and Veteran Employer.  http://www.hr.fsu.edu/PDF/Publications/diversity/EEO_Statement.pdf
