Job Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in observational studies of circumstellar disks at the University of Oklahoma.  The successful applicant will work with Dr John Wisniewski.  Potential research projects include analysis of x-ray and IR photometric observations of protoplanetary and debris disks, as well as high contrast imagery of protoplanetary and debris disk systems. 

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Astronomy or Physics.  Previous experience analyzing x-ray astronomy and/or optical-IR high-contrast imagery of circumstellar disks is desirable, but not required.  The initial appointment will be for 1 year, renewable to a total of 3 years contingent on satisfactory performance and continued funding.  The start date for the appointment is flexible, with appointments as soon as Jan 1, 2021 through summer 2021 available.  Please indicate your potential start date in your application.
