Job Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Position in “Gas and galaxy evolution in different environments” to be held at the Padova Observatory of the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF) (Post doc position - D.D. 77/2021). The position is funded by the European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant n. 833824.

The successful applicant will work in the extragalactic group in Padova and join the international GASP team (GAs Stripping Phenomena in galaxies, http://web.oapd.inaf.it/gasp/) using MUSE integral-field spectroscopic data and other multi-wavelength data to study the physical processes that affect gas in galaxies and their consequences for galaxy evolution.

The position is offered for 2 years, renewable for another year, with a starting date from May 2022 onward, negotiable. The annual salary is 38.000 euro. A research and travel budget is available, health and work insurance are included.

Applicants should have a PhD in physics, astronomy or related subject by the deadline for applications. Experience in multi-wavelength observations will be a plus.
