Job Description
The Laboratory has major research and training facilities in observational, instrumental and theoretical astronomy, and is a strong participant in space and ground based instrumentation and astronomical surveys.
Positions are available in the following research areas: cosmology and large scale structure, galaxy formation and evolution, star formation and interstellar medium, stars and extrasolar planets, solar system and planetary formation, and astronomical optics and instrumentation.
Applicants must have a solid physics background, and a Master degree or equivalent by the time the position is begun. Previous research experience and skills will be important criteria for the selection. The PhD positions are not restricted by nationality.The fellowships are available for 3 years.

Whatever the project, the application procedure is the following :
Students interested by one or more projects have to contact the PhD supervisor(s) as soon as possible, and before preparing the formal application.
After discussion, students have to send their application directly to the supervisor(s). Candidates applying to several projects have to specify priorities in their choice.
