Postdoctoral Positions for High Energy Astrophysics at UNIST, Korea

Department of Physics of UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) hosts "Center for High Energy Astrophysics (CHEA)", a research center supported by National Research Foundation of Korea. Current research topics of CHEA include 1) high energy phenomena in clusters of galaxies, particularly those involving shock waves, turbulence, magnetic fields, and cosmic rays, and 2) the structure and evolution of compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes as well as explosive phenomena related to them. CHEA invites applications for postdoctoral positions for the topics of high energy astrophysics and related fields.

Postdoctoral Positions are offered for up to 3 years (initially for 2 years and for 1 more year after evaluation). The salary is on the level of postdoctoral fellows of Korean research institutes and commensurate with experiences. Funds for research expenses are provided. Successful candidates are expected to spend a half of their time for researches with members of CHEA and the other half for independent researches of their own interests.

Applicants must have a PhD in astronomy, physics, or a related field at the time of appointment.
