Job Announcement Text:

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at Dartmouth College to work with the group of Prof. Ryan Hickox on observational studies of active galactic nuclei and galaxies, in collaboration with Dr. Andy Goulding of Princeton University.

The successful applicant will contribute to a vigorous research program addressing exciting questions about the evolution of supermassive black holes. The research will primarily focus on X-ray and multiwavelength studies using data from the Chandra and multiwavelength NASA archives, and will involve development of X-ray stacking software.

Applicants should have a PhD in astronomy or astrophysics (or expect to complete the degree by the start of the position). Experience in X-ray observations and/or observational studies of AGN and galaxies is strongly preferred. The appointment will be for an initial period of two years with the possibility of an additional year. The preferred start date is October 2019 or earlier. The position includes funds for travel, publications, and computing, and offers a competitive salary with health benefits.

Complete applications should include a CV and publications list, a brief statement of research interests, and three letters of reference. All materials should be submitted in PDF format on Interfolio, following the instructions at: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~hickox/positions.php. Applications received by 3 January 2019 will receive full consideration, although applications will be accepted until the position is

filled.
