New Mexico State University is seeking a Systems Administrator to support day time observations at the Sunspot Solar Observatory in Sunspot, NM.
Responsibilities include IT support, systems management, updating and upgrading software for operations of the Dunn Solar Telescope and instruments, upgrading computer hardware and operating systems, server maintenance, and network service maintenance. The successful candidate will assist with observing, computing, and other items as needed. Self-driven motivation, ability to excel in, and lead, small teams, and the ability to work at a remote location at altitude are essential attributes.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Five (5) years of experience related to the standard duties as outlined. Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services
