Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. The Center for Theoretical Astrophysics (CTA) brings together over 50 staff, postdocs, and students from across LANL, with expertise that spans a broad swath of topics in theoretical and computational astrophysics including planetary physics, stellar astrophysics, nuclear astrophysics, transients, black hole astrophysics, plasma astrophysics, and cosmic rays.
Requires
Ph.D. in related discipline in past five years (or soon to be completed)
Interest/experience in computational astrophysics, both scientific topics and computational tools and techniques.
Desire to pursue research independently and in collaboration with members of the CTA
Salary/benefits highly competitive, minimum starting salary $74,000. Exceptional resources available for high-performance computing, as well as research and travel expenses.
