Applications are invited for a post-doctoral position at The University of Western Ontario working with Prof. Els Peeters on studies of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), fullerenes, and dust in various environments, with an emphasis on (galactic and extragalactic) star-forming regions and photodissociation regions. The primary responsibility of the successful applicant will be to participate in the preparation and analysis of the JWST Early Release Science program ID 1288: “Radiative feedback from massive stars” led by O. Berne, E. Habart and E. Peeters.
Candidates must hold a PhD in astrophysics or related fields by the appointment start. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in IR astronomy and astronomical data reduction. Prior research experience in PAHs and dust is desirable but not required. The appointment is for 2 years with an additional year dependent upon performance and continued funding. The starting date is expected to be September 2021 or later.
Applicants should submit the following materials in a single pdf file under a subject heading “Postdoc position – your name”: i) a cover letter (maximum 2 pages), ii) a curriculum vitae, iii) a research statement describing past, current and future research interests (maximum 4 pages), and iv) contact information for three people to provide reference letters on request.
