Research Specialist

The Center of Excellence in Information Systems Engineering and Management at Tennessee State University (TSU) invites applications for a Research Specialist position in the Automated Astronomy Group. Candidates with research interests from any topic in astronomy will be considered. A doctoral degree in astrophysics, physics, or related field is required.

TSU operates several robotic telescopes at Fairborn Observatory in southern Arizona. Instrumentation includes precision photometers and the 2-meter Automatic Spectroscopic Telescope (AST). TSU also collaborates with the Navy Precision Optical Interferometer. The successful applicant can expect access to these resources, with significant amounts of AST observing time available, to pursue his or her science programs.
