Assistant Professor in Astrophysics in the Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida


The Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida invites applications for a full- time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor to begin on August 16, 2018. We invite applications in all areas from candidates who specialize in data intensive or computationally intensive astrophysics research. We particularly encourage applicants who can utilize resources available at the University of Florida through the Informatics Institute and/or High Performance Computing Center. In addition, candidates should have a strong established research program that complements ongoing research in the Department, a compelling plan for future research, and the ability to supervise both graduate and undergraduate research projects. A Ph.D. degree in Astronomy, Astrophysics, or a closely related field is required. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.
