Job Description

The center for Cosmology at UC Irvine invites applications for the McCue Postdoctoral Fellowship with start date in the Fall of 2020. Applicants with expertise in numerical simulations, theoretical galaxy formation, and/or alternative dark matter simulations are preferred. The McCue Fellowship is an independent postdoctoral position, though strong candidates will have significant overlap with the research interests of James Bullock and will have the opportunity to collaborate with him and other UCI faculty including Kevork Abazajian, Michael Cooper, and Manoj Kaplinghat. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to our department’s diversity through their scholarship and/or service and who enjoy mentoring younger scholars. Women, minorities, people with disabilities, and veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applicants should apply at UC Irvine’s online application system, AP RECRUIT, located at https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/apply/JPF05698. Requirements include 1) a 3-5 page statement of research interests; 2) a 1-2 page description of synergistic activities, mentoring, and broader impacts; 3) a CV that includes a list of publications, and 4) a statement of contributions to diversity.

The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, or other protected categories covered by the UC nondiscrimination policy.
