Postdoc position, active galaxies

Post-doctoral position at the CTP PAS in the project ERC-Synergy ‘Sub-percent calibration of the extragalactic distance scale in the era of big surveys’ financed by as part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No. [951549]). PI of the part of the project led by CTP is Prof. Bozena Czerny.

At the time of application, the candidates should either have a PhD degree, or will obtain a PhD degree before signing the job contract. We search for candidates interested in the research in the domain of astrophysics. Candidates with previous experience in astrophysics, and in particular in optical observations, preferentially of active galactic nuclei and in programming, are particularly welcome. Among the tasks of the employed scientists will be modelling the expected tcontinuum time delays in AGN accretion disks, applying for observations of such delays, analysis of the obtained data and simulating/analysing of the delay data expected from Vera C. Rubin Observatory, within the project the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST).
