Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions at Tel Aviv University to work in the groups of Ehud Nakar and/or Amir Levinson and/or Omer Bromberg. The applicants will work on topics related to theoretical as well as numerical high energy astrophysics. Main research topics are compact binary mergers, gamma-ray bursts, supernovae, AGNs and the general theory of jets, reconnection, plasma processes, radiation mediated shocks, shock-breakout and radiation transfer. Positions are open both for numerical experts and for theoreticians.
Applicants should have a PhD in astrophysics. Advantage will be given to applicants with background in relevant fields of high-energy astrophysics. The appointment is for an initial period of two years, with an extension of up to four years, depending on performance. Starting dates are flexible with a preference for beginning no later than Fall 2021. The positions include funds for travel, publication fees, and computing, including a dedicated high-power computing facility (2,000 cores).
