Postdoctoral Position in Near Field Cosmology

A postdoctoral fellowship of two to three years in duration is expected to become available in the 2018 academic year at the Physics and Astronomy Department of the University of Victoria, BC, Canada. Successful candidates are expected to pursue original research, under the general supervision of Prof. Julio Navarro, in theoretical or observational Astrophysics. Preference will be given to candidates with interests overlapping our current research interests: cosmological simulations of structure and galaxy formation, as well as "near-field cosmology" studies of the Milky Way and Local Group of Galaxies. Individuals interested in pursuing studies aimed to bridge the gap between cosmological simulations and observations of the local Universe are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will have access to all Canadian observational and computing facilities.
