Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the general field of energetic stellar and planetary radiation environments, within the High Energy Astrophysics Division of the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian.
The scientific aims are broadly directed at understanding the high energy processes on stars and their effects on their circumstellar environments, including planets and protoplanetary disks. Research is expected to be centered on one or more of the following: analysis of observations obtained by space-based and/or ground-based facilities; theoretical or numerical modelling of stellar radiation, winds and energetic particles and their interaction with planets and/or and protoplanetary disks.
The position will initially be for two years and may be extended for an additional year, depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding. A starting date in Fall 2020 is preferable.
