Job Summary:

Provide nuclear physicist support in the areas of but not limited to; updating the Stockpile to Target Sequence requirements related to defining and establishing requirements to survive hostile and fratricide threat environments from nuclear and directed energy weapons

Education and Experience:

Bs/BA or MS in Physics or Mathematics with 7 years directly related experience (Five years with MS degree). At least 3 years of progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist engineers in the organization to provide depth in nuclear physics for their general engineering assignments concerning nuclear ICBM Warheads.

  • Provide physics support in planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define MK21A LPO systems/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications

  • Perform duties which encompass several phases of the development process in which the contractor shall assist to lead, guide and evaluate the design and development activities of engineers within the organization and other enterprise partners

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

Knowledge of the latest versions of Better Buying Power 2.0, DoD 5000.02 Operation of the Defense Acquisition System, DoDD 3150.1, Joint DoD-Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DoD-DOE/NNSA) Nuclear Weapon Life-Cycle Activities, DoDI 5030.55, Joint DoD-DOE Nuclear Weapons Life-Cycle Activities, Defense Acquisition Guidebook and AFI 63-101/20-101 Integrated Life Cycle Management
