Job Description

Applications are invited for two postdoctoral fellow positions in areas related to galaxy formation, inter/circumgalactic medium, and cosmology at Tsinghua University, Department of Astronomy in Beijing, China. Candidates with background in observation or theory are both encouraged to apply. Successful candidates can work independently, although they are encouraged to work with Prof. Zheng Cai and Prof. Cheng Li, on topics related to the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) and Subaru Prime Focus Spectrograph (PFS) surveys. Successful candidates will also have access to domestic and international observing facilities, including MMT, Palomar and CFHT; and also have opportunities to join LOFAR collaboration. 

Applicants should have Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field. A complete application should include a CV, a list of publications and a statement of previous and future research. The applicant should also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent to the same email address prior to the deadline. Initial appointment is for two years, renewable for a third year depending on performance. Successful candidates will be offered internationally competitive salary and subsidized housing. They are normally expected to start at Tsinghua no later than September 1, 2020, although the exact starting date can be negotiated.
