Job Description

The Department of Physics at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a tenure-track position in astrophysics at the Assistant Professor rank with an anticipated start date of August 23, 2024. Candidates from all areas of astrophysics and cosmology are encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to have a PhD in astrophysics or a closely-related field and to have established an independent program of research. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to effective teaching and promoting an inclusive community in astrophysics.

UConn is committed to a strong astrophysics program, currently with 4 astrophysics faculty, 3 postdocs and 20 graduate students. UConn astrophysics faculty are engaged in experiments and collaborations with HST, JWST, ALMA, SDSS, Rubin/LSST, Subaru/PFS, and other world-class facilities.
