The Department of Physics and Astronomy at California State University Long Beach (CSULB) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Astronomy. We seek candidates who are committed to working with diverse students and promoting their access to scientific careers. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Astronomy, Physics or Astrophysics and at least one year of postdoctoral experience at the time of application, with a record of research in Astronomy and/or Astrophysics commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will teach Astronomy courses for non-majors as well as electives in Astronomy and Astrophysics, design and supervise observational astronomy events using the Department’s telescopes, and establish an active research program involving undergraduate and master’s students with potential for extramural funding.
